Key Features • Low-halogen1 single-port PCI-Express * 10/100/1000 Ethernet
adapter • Innovative power management features including energy, Ethernet
(EEE), DMA merging, ultra-compact design, and a unique ventilation stand
Efficiency and power consumption • IEEE 802.1 qav Audio-Video-Bridging (AVB)
Strictly controlled media stream syn-chronization, buffering and booking • High
performance design support for PCI Express * 2.1 - 2.5 gt / s • Reliable from
Intel Corporation And proven Gigabit Ethernet technology.
Power Management TechnologiesToday, companies are trying to reduce
energy consumption across the enterprise to reduce costs and environmental
impact while addressing the increasingly important power density challenges.
That's why Intel has introduced new, advanced power management technologies
(PMTs that enable enterprise confgure power options and more efficiently manage
power consumption. Energy-Efficient Ethernet (EEE) Intel Ethernet Server
Adapter I210 Family Support IEEE802.3az Energy, Ethernet (EEE) Standard, Low
Network Activity Period, EEE Reduces Power Consumption Connects Ethernet to a
compatible EEE switch port to a low Power idle (LPI) state. This reduces the
controller ap-proximately 50% of the normal operating power, saving power on
the network port and switch ports. When the network condition is detected,
increasing the controller and switch quickly returns to full power processing
to increase network conditions. EEE 1000 base - t and 100 base-tx support. DMA
CoalescingAnother power management technology that can reduce power has been on
the server with high-profile DMA merging (DMAC). Typically, when a packet
arrives at the adapter, the DMA request is initiated in order to wrap the
packet into the host (or server) memory. This transaction wakes up the
processor, memory, and other system components from a low power state in order
to perform the task that needs to handle incoming packets.

Timing and Synchronization The time-specifc application (802.1) stream
subscription (SR) protocol ensures audio / video required resources (AV)
streams (802.1 carbons) • Forward and queued time-enhanced sensitive traffic
(802.1 qav). Performance Optimization The Intel® Ethernet Server Adapter I210
includes four transfers and four receive queues. These queues provide error
Correct-ing memory (ECC) protection that improves data reliability. The adapter
effciently manage the packets with minimal delay combined with parallel and
pipelined logical architectures to optimize these inde-pendent transmission and
receive queues. These queues, coupled with Receiver Extended (RSS) and Message
Signal Interrupt Extensions (MSI-X) support, optimize performance and
multi-core processors on the server.
